Editors’ Report
The four issues of Volume 118 of The Scandinavian Journal of Economics,
published in 2016, contain 34 contributions. Of these, 33 are regularly
submitted articles, and 1 is a presentation of the 2015 recipient of the
Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.
Excluding the Nobel material, the average time from submission to ac-
ceptance of final version was 19.3 months. The average time from receipt
of final version to print publication was 15.5 months. In the last quarter
of 2015, the SJE began putting .pdf versions of accepted papers on our
publisher’s Web site. The first 23 of these online papers were published
in print in Volume 118. The average time from receipt of final version to
online appearance for the .pdf versions of these 23 papers was 5.7 months.
During 2016, we received 295 regular submissions (61 Nordic and 234
non-Nordic). Including only regular submissions, the ratio of published-to-
submitted articles was 0.11; the average time to first decision was 3.55
months; the average time to rejection in the first round was 3.02 months.
We required six months or more to make a first decision on 20.80 percent
of the regular submissions.
We would like to express our gratitude for assistance during 2016 from
the following referees.
