Editors’ Report

The four issues of Volume 121 of The Scandinavian Journal of Economics,

published in 2019, contain 60 contributions. Of these, 58 are regularly

submitted articles; and 2 are presentations of the 2018 recipients of the

Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred

Nobel.

Excluding the Nobel material, the mean time from submission to

acceptance of final version was 17.99 months. The mean time from receipt

of final version to print publication was 16.98 months.

Toward the end of 2015, the SJE began putting .pdf versions of accepted

articles on our publisher’s Web site. The mean time from receipt of final

version to online appearance of the .pdf files for regularly submitted

articles in Volume 121 was 1.68 months.

During 2019, we received 289 regular submissions (64 Nordic and 225)

non-Nordic). Including only regular submissions, the ratio of published-

to-submitted articles was 0.19; the mean time to first decision was 2.02

months; the mean time to rejection in the first round was 1.83 months.

We required six months or more to make a first decision on 5.76 percent

of the regular submissions.
